The scope of skill developing exercises and simple musical games is to add something
to traditional music teaching techniques in order to avoid music learning becoming
mechanical even in case of not so talented children. (…)
Kodály stated as early as in the 20’s that „…every child would be willing to improvise
if they were allowed to.” Well, if a child is in possession of this particular talent, then
it is worth being developed, especially if by this means he can get closer to musical
pieces and the whole world of music.
