Life Career in the Service of Music Education
How can we teach students to enjoy music? How can we compose works to serve
their spiritual development? I have followed a single directive in my life: in what-
ever musical activity I have been engaged, I have always asked myself ’What would
Zoltán Kodály say to this if he were alive?’
All in all, if I start to count, I can see that I benefited from his advice during an ap-
prenticeship of 27 long years. In addition I have tried for 37 years (so far) to put his
words in practice.
